step of the way, and so we are bidden to “Come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace for seasonable help” (Heb. 4:16, N.T.). This is the grace which the apostle prays may be the abiding portion of the people of God. And then he asks that peace may be given. It is not peace with God. That they already enjoyed.
